Back-to-School Information

With summer over half over it is time to start thinking about getting ready for the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year.  This year at MHS there are many new changes; school ID cards, lunch procedures, transcript request procedures, sports fees and passes, and the new registration days.  It is very important that students/parents plan on attending one of the new registration days, Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, or Thursday, Aug.19, 2010, from 2:00-7:00 PM.  At this event students will receive back-to-school materials, have school pictures taken, receive student ID cards, purchase school lunches, gym uniforms, and sports passes, and have many other opportunities.  Please take a few moments to go to the Parent Page link and preview this information.

Marathon Mathletics

STEVENS POINT – The Marathon High School Math Team recently completed a successful season in the three part Central Wisconsin Math League held at UW—Stevens Point.    The team placed first out of fourteen schools in division three.  Eighteen students competed in three different specialty areas including Geometry, Algebra and Advanced Math.  Each of the past twenty years the MHS Mathletics team has finished in the top six schools in their division with finishes in first or second place in ten of those seasons.  This year the team was led by individual performances by Jordan Ho, Brad Stieber, Logan Viegut, Tori Blume and Dayton Hamann.  Jordan Ho received first place in the Advanced problem solving category and earned an individual award for the fifth year in a row.  Brad Stieber finished second place in the Algebra category, while Tori Blume, Logan Viegut and Dayton Hamann finished 6th, 7th and 10th in their respective categories.  The Central Wisconsin Math League, concluding its 40th year in existence, is a joint venture sponsored by UW—Stevens Point, Sentry Insurance, Travel Guard and Wausau Benefits in an effort to encourage higher level, mathematical problem solving skills in high school students.
