Marathon School District Endowment Fund Mission Statement
“To provide all Marathon students and those dedicated to education, with opportunities to achieve continued educational excellence.”

It’s About the Kids
The Marathon School District Endowment Fund is here for one reason - to make a difference in children's education. Tomorrow's scientists, doctors, authors, inventors, peacemakers, leaders and parents are sitting in the classrooms right now. You can help each child reach their dream because an investment in education helps to prepare students and offers them educational opportunities that are not possible with tax dollars alone.

About the Foundation
The foundation originated as a recommendation of the long-range planning process of 2004. In spring of 2005, the Donations Committee explored the idea of creating a nonprofit Foundation. During the 2005-2006 school year, the Board of Education partnered with the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin. The Board identified a local Society of Founders, who willingly accepted the task of establishing directives and naming the first Board of Directors.

The Foundation subsequently gave rise to the Marathon School District Endowment Fund.
The Marathon School District Endowment Fund is a component fund of the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. CFNCW manages the fund for a minimal 1.5% fee. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.

How You Can Make a Difference
A donation to the Marathon School District Endowment Fund helps to generate money that will be used to support scholarships and educational opportunities for Marathon School District students. Together, we can all be a part of building strong schools and a stronger community.

You can make a difference by…

  • Supporting a district event with your time or as a patron
  • Giving a monetary gift donation
  • Establishing a charitable trust
  • Donating appreciated securities
  • Gifting property or estate
  • Creating a memorial donation to remember the people who made a difference in your life
  • Gifting an honorary donation in someone’s name
  • Giving through bequests and wills

Community Foundation of North Central WI , 500 Third Street, Suite 310 Wausau, WI 54403  (on memo line, please note Marathon School District Endowment Fund) or online at www.cfoncw.org.
